Il Premio

Il Premio Internazionale Giorgio Gaslini nasce nel 2015, ad un anno dalla scomparsa del Maestro, per volere della moglie, l’attrice Simona Caucia, con la collaborazione dell’ Istituto Manara e del Comune di Borgo Val di Taro, cittadina del parmense dove Gaslini scelse di vivere dagli anni ’70.

Un evento culturale importante, che ha nei suoi punti di forza ha sicuramente la presenza della giuria composta dai Maestri Franco D’Andrea, Roberto Bonati e Bruno Tommaso.

L’obbiettivo principale è portare aventi la filosofia del Maestro Gaslini, che nei giovani ha sempre creduto ed investito, vedendo nel futuro del jazz, in costante cambiamento.

Ogni anno la giuria nomina, dopo un’attenta analisi del panorama musicale contemporaneo, il vincitore del Premio Gaslini, che viene invitato a Borgotaro per la premiazione con concerto.

The Prize

The Giorgio Gaslini International Award was founded in 2015, one year after the death of the Maestro. The prize was at the request of his wife, the actress Simona Caucia, with the collaboration of the Manara Institute and the town hall of Borgo Val di Taro, a town in the Parma province where Gaslini chose to live from the 1970s.

It is an important cultural event that holds the presence of an impactful jury, composed of he Masters Franco D’Andrea, Roberto Bonati and Bruno Tommaso.

The main objective of the event is to carry on the philosophy of Maestro Gaslini, who has always believed and invested in the younger generations, seeing in the future of jazz and in constant evolution.

Every year the jury appoints a winner of the Gaslini Prize, after a careful analysis of the contemporary music scene. The winner is then invited to Borgotaro for the award ceremony with a concert.
